Federal Juniors Shine at the 2025 Jack Newton International Junior Classic

Over 500 junior golfers descended on the Hunter Valley from 30th September to 3rd October 2025 to compete in the prestigious Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) International Classic. Among them were four talented juniors from Federal Golf Club – Luke Jordan, William Oh, Liam Oh, and Robert Thompson.

The event was held across several venues:

  • Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort hosted the Jack Newton International Junior Classic for players aged 15–17.

  • The Vintage Golf Course welcomed the 12–14 age group.

  • Rydges Resort Hunter Valley was the venue for the Jack Newton International Sub-Junior Classic, catering to players aged 12 and under with handicaps.

  • For juniors aged 6–12 without handicaps, the 9-Hole Junior Classic was played at Singleton Golf Club.

This year’s event featured a truly international field, with junior golfers representing Australia, Fiji, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Samoa, Singapore, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, Denmark, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

Federal Juniors’ Performances

At Rydges Resort Hunter Valley, Robert Thompson, William Oh, and Liam Oh played off the white tees across all three days. Luke Jordan took on the challenging Vintage Golf Course, teeing off from the men’s tees in tough conditions, with high winds and high temperatures testing all players.

Two Federal juniors came away with trophies:

  • Robert Thompson – Nett Winner, Boys 10

  • Liam Oh – Runner-Up Nett, Boys 9

Individual Results:

The Vintage Golf Course (15–17 years)

  • Luke Jordan: 15th Gross, 10th Nett

Rydges Resort Hunter Valley (12 & under with handicaps)

  • Robert Thompson: 7th Gross, 1st Nett

  • Liam Oh: 5th Stroke, Nett Runner-Up

  • William Oh: 22nd Stroke, 17th Nett
